Yes, the gowns are cleaned but they have been tried on by other brides in the store. We recommend taking the gown to get dry cleaned after your alterations to clean up any make up or sweat you may have gotten on it during the alterations process! If the gown was originally a sample it most likely has not been altered, unless it was a repair. If it has been worn by a bride before, yes it has been altered. This means some gowns are shorter than samples or different proportions than size chart sizes. This actually works better for many brides! They can try gowns that are nearly fitted to them.
Many of our dresses are "used", correct! Some are brand new and found their way to us as the original owner may have changed her mine and decided not to wear the dress. However the bulk of our inventory as either been tried on as a sample dress at traditional made-to-order boutiques like our sister store, The Dress Theory, or direct from the best independent designers like Sarah Seven and Flora Bridal. A smaller portion of the gowns have been worn by a bride before, these are cleaned and maintained to resell with us.
Though the majority of our inventory is between an 8 and 12 in bridal, we have sizes ranging from 00 - 24. Our dresses are sold off-the-rack, so our sizes change daily. If there is a specific gown in a specific size, definitely grab it because it changes all the time. Some gowns have been altered and don't fall under a clear specific size, but measurements are available!
Absolutely. If shopping online with us, we recommend talking to a stylist via email or virtual styling appointment before purchasing as they will be able to walk through what the alterations will look like to either have the gown let out or taken in. If shopping in Nashville, the process will be explained during your appointment.
We try to move inventory through our store as quickly as possible to maintain the integrity of the inventory. That being said, we get at least a couple new gowns every month! If you are shopping with us, we do recommend purchasing that day because we never have a guarantee that we will get that specific gown again.
No. We have several recommendations but because we have so many out of town brides, we usually talk with each bride individually to help them find an alterations shop in their area via email if they need assistance locating a bridal seamstress for their wedding dress.
